A worked school reference example

Start here: Open a separate practice chat. Copy the complete small FAQ exercise below, send it and compare each answer with P1-P3. Add a supplement only when that exercise supplies it.

Keep this fictional pack in a separate practice conversation. Copy the small exercise you want to try, then compare the result with the supplied facts.

Beauty School is fictional. These facts are invented teaching material, not a policy or model for your school's compliance. This compact example shows how the ten sections link to sources and open items. It is not a complete real-school reference.

Practice source pack

  • P1: Practice program note v1: “Color Foundations is a fictional 200-hour workshop. Sessions run Tuesday and Thursday, 5-8 PM. The next start date has not been confirmed.”
  • P2: Practice handbook Section 4: “Make-up sessions are Wednesdays, 4-6 PM. Request a place through the Education Director; receive confirmation before attending.”
  • P3: Practice cost note v1: “Workshop tuition is $1,000; the required practice kit is $90. Other required charges have not been confirmed.”
  • P4: Practice Admissions note: “Tour requests go to Admissions through the school's approved booking channel. A requested time is not confirmed until Admissions replies.”
  • P5: Practice owner interview: “Our voice is warm, direct and specific. No career guarantees. Admissions confirms tours; Education confirms make-up places. Clinic guest hours and public status have not yet been supplied.”

Ten linked entries

01 Programs: Color Foundations, 200 hours; Tuesday/Thursday 5-8 PM [P1]. Next start UNKNOWN: Admissions. Public licensing/accreditation UNKNOWN: owner must obtain official evidence; no claim made.

02 Policy: Quote P2 exactly. Confirmation is required. Any exceptions or fees are NOT IN THE PRACTICE SOURCES: Education Director.

03 Costs: $1,000 tuition plus $90 required kit [P3]. The arithmetic subtotal is $1,090; complete total UNKNOWN because other charges are unresolved. Individual aid goes to the authorized office, which must still be confirmed for this fictional school.

04 Tours: Request through the approved Admissions channel; wait for confirmation [P4]. Exact channel UNKNOWN until supplied. Do not invent a link or time.

05 Voice: Warm, direct, specific; no career guarantees [P5]. Illustrative reply: “Admissions can help you request a tour. Your time is confirmed when the team replies.”

06 FAQ: “Can I make up hours Sunday?” The source lists Wednesday sessions and says nothing about Sunday exceptions [P2]. Ask Education; do not approve.

07 Roles: Admissions confirms tours; Education confirms make-up places [P5]. Refund and aid approval roles UNKNOWN: owner to resolve.

08 Calendar: Tuesday/Thursday workshop sessions [P1], Wednesday make-up window [P2]. No start date or external deadline supplied. Official-source directory remains incomplete.

09 Clinic: Hours, prices, services and guest policies NOT SUPPLIED [P5]. Route to the owner-designated clinic role once confirmed.

10 Boundaries: No guessed dates, approvals, aid awards or career guarantees [P5 and practice instructions]. Missing answer: state the gap and route to the confirmed role.

What this teaches: a section can be well organized while still incomplete. Unknowns must remain visible. Never turn this practice example into your real policy by changing the school name.

Practice supplements: add facts only when they are supplied

These invented supplements support later exercises. They are not part of P1-P5 and must not be treated as if they were known in the first exercise.

  • P4 supplement: the website's Request a Tour form accepts requests; Admissions replies with options and confirms. Evening slots remain unknown.
  • P6 internal calendar: clinic closed November 3, 2026 for maintenance, Operations owns the notice. March 1, 2027 catalog review is proposed, not yet approved and not an agency deadline.
  • P7 clinic note: Request an Appointment form accepts requests; the clinic confirms availability. Students work under educator supervision. Allow extra time; no exact duration, price or outcome guarantee supplied.

Use this complete small exercise:

Create a fictional front-desk FAQ from only these notes:
P1: Color Foundations is 200 hours, Tue/Thu 5-8 PM. Start date unknown.
P2 Section 4: Make-up sessions Wed 4-6 PM; the Education Director
must confirm a place before attendance.
P3: Tuition $1,000, required kit $90; other charges unconfirmed.
Admissions handles program and published-cost questions.
Answer these in two sentences each, followed by their source:
Can I study after work? Can I make up missed time on Wednesday?
Is $1,000 the full cost? Preserve conditions and missing details.

Check the answer: Tue/Thu 5-8 PM without a start date; Wed 4-6 PM only with prior confirmation; $1,090 known subtotal with other charges unresolved. Ask “I missed class, what now?” and verify that the wording changes but the condition does not.

Learn from the example, then start fresh

Keep Beauty School only in the practice space. For your real school, introduce the actual school and confirm its facts through the interview and relevant sources. For personal planning, start a separate note. Changing only the fictional school name would carry invented rules and prices into a real reference.
