01 · Studio thesis

Specific work inside large industries—and everyday moments.

Industry depth

The best starting point is a market Craig understands from multiple angles: manufacturer priorities, distributor pressures, salon economics, professional workflows, product decisions, and customer trust.

Workflow tension

A CowanWorks project needs a repeated friction point — something people work around every week because the available tools were not shaped for them.

Clear buyer

The customer has to be identifiable, reachable, and close enough to the problem that a better tool is not abstract.

Brand room

The category has to leave space for taste. If the product cannot carry a point of view, it does not belong here.

02 · Founder

Built from time spent inside the beauty industry, not around it.

Craig Cowan builds from the field.

Craig’s work is rooted in an intimate understanding of the beauty channel: how manufacturers think, what distributors manage, what salon owners decide, and what professionals carry behind the chair. CowanWorks turns that category knowledge into products with sharper context than broad software can carry.

The studio’s beauty vertical is anchored by a simple commitment: build at the front edge of where the industry is going — better business systems, better financial understanding, and technology that respects how beauty professionals already work.

Manufacturer viewUnderstanding how brands think about education, product adoption, distribution, loyalty, and long-term category growth.
Distributor viewUnderstanding the middle layer: sales relationships, inventory movement, training support, and what it takes to earn salon trust.
Salon viewUnderstanding owner and professional pressures around pricing, product cost, booking rhythm, retention, and career durability.

In development · AI customer service

Always-on support for the beauty channel.

Warbler is being built for AI customer service reps that can answer around the clock, support multiple languages, and stay aligned with distributor policy, manufacturer product knowledge, promotions, and account-specific guidance.

Its Nashville roots still matter: a city built around songwriting gives the songbird name cultural memory. But the product promise stays clear — faster, more accurate answers for beauty businesses and the teams that support them.

VyoForge
Campaign video · One idea, many cuts

Make one idea fit every channel.

VyoForge takes the rough material small businesses actually have — a clip, a script, an offer, a customer proof point — and turns it into videos, captions, thumbnails, CTAs, and follow-up copy shaped for where each piece will live.

One clean LinkedIn cut. One sharper Reel. One TikTok-native opener. One email follow-up. The same idea, translated with taste.
